Dr. Lee-Hood has worked in management, leadership training, public communications, entrepreneurship, law, health, information technology, academia, higher education, research, innovation, organizational change, equal opportunity, mediation, facilitation, dialogue, and chaplaincy. As an employee and labor relations consultant at a large American multinational corporation, she provided oversight, training, and advice to managers and human resources professionals on positive employee relations management, work environment, and performance improvement. She has been a trainer, coach, mediator, and/or advisor for organizations at the forefront of the negotiation and conflict transformation fields: Harvard University's world-renowned Program on Negotiation (PON), Global Negotiation Project, and Harvard Mediation Program; Insight Partners; and Essential Partners, formerly the Public Conversations Project. She has also worked in the public sector as an investigator intern at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Her pro bono service has ranged from assisting new immigrants to mediating cases in the Massachusetts district courts to providing spiritual support to individuals amidst life's challenges and transitions.

Dr. Lee-Hood was adjunct faculty at Harvard University, where she taught courses for mid-career professionals and graduate students from diverse fields and countries, and many attested to their profound impact. Deans and faculty relied on her to author their public speeches, contribute to their high-level institutional statements, and advise them on successful curriculum design and teaching methods. She pioneered a high-profile Harvard program on transformative leadership, intercultural engagement, and conflict resolution informed by expertise from communities and traditions around the world. She led its public communications, programming, and global collaborations. Attended by thousands, the groundbreaking program was acclaimed by the public, experts, and leaders, including at the United Nations, for advancing leadership approaches vital in our contemporary world.

Clients have traveled from another state or continent to attend her programs in person. She has conducted individual, group, and onsite corporate training and now offers her unique programs online, accessible to clients worldwide. Dr. Lee-Hood earned her PhD and MA degrees from Harvard University in the humanities with a specialization in languages, literatures, cultures, and spiritual traditions. The faculty committee described her PhD dissertation and oral defense as of highest honors (summa cum laude) quality. At Harvard, she previously earned her MTS degree and AB degree with specializations in the Middle East and East Asia. She graduated from Harvard College with high honors (magna cum laude), Phi Beta Kappa, and highest honors (summa cum laude) for her oral defense of her honors thesis. She earned her MS degree from Boston University in speech-language pathology and trained at Massachusetts General Hospital and other leading institutions. She has been a certified teacher of business English (CTBE) since 2003, a certified teacher of English as a foreign language (CTEFL) since 2002, and a certified speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP) since 1999. She has received many awards for academic excellence, including from Harvard University, Boston University, Phillips Andover Academy, the national Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, the National Merit Scholars Program, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the U.S. Department of Education.

A native speaker of American English, Dr. Lee-Hood was born and raised in the United States. Growing up in an East-West multicultural family inspired in her a lifelong interest in languages, cultures, and the rich contributions of the world's civilizations to humanity. She has studied multiple languages to an advanced level (Mandarin Chinese, French, Arabic) and additional languages (Toisanese and Cantonese Chinese, German, Persian, Tamil), which together span the Sino-Tibetan, Afro-Asiatic, Indo-European, and Dravidian language families. She has lived for extended periods, studied, and/or traveled in Europe, East Asia, South Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East.
